Number of marriages registered falls by over 60%

The number of marriages registered in Kerry fell by almost two thirds in 2020.

The Central Statistics Office data shows that 359 marriages were registered in the county last year, down from 955 in 2019.

Of these marriages, the CSO says there were nine same sex marriages, which dropped from 19 the previous year.

The average age for grooms was 40 and the average for brides was 37.4 years.
