John Myler

John Myler has stepped down as Kerry Senior Hurling Manager.

It comes in the wake of Kerry's exit from the Christy Ring Cup Competition yesterday after a 2.21 to 1.16 loss to Kildare. The Kingdom also lost to Wicklow the previous week.

John Mylers management team of Christy Walsh, John Hennessy, and Eddie Murphy will also vacate their positions.

International Children's Games

Tralee has withdrawn its bid to host the 20-15 International Children's Games.

In a statement Tralee ICG said it regretfully announces that its ambitious plans to stage the Games in Kerry have had to be terminated as the necessary public funding has not materialised.

Soccer-U13 League

Killarney Celtic have guaranteed themselves at least a playoff for the Under 13 Premier title.

A 3-0 win over Listowel moves them on to 25 points from 9 games.

Kingdom Boys have 22 points from 8 outings, and play Mastergeeha on Monday.

Killarney Celtic and Mastergeeha then meet in the last game of the season.

Munster Rugby

Munster has announced the appointment of New Zealander Rob Penney as their new coach on a two year deal.

48 year old Penney has previously been part of the Crusaders Super rugby side coaching ticket and led Canterbury to a fourth straight ITM Cup title last season.

Penney will join in July after he coaches the New Zealand under 20's at the World cup.

Antony Foley will continue on in his role as forwards coach

Gaa, Kerry Minor Hurlers

Kerry lost to Tipperary in the first round of last nights Munster Minor Hurling Championship.

The Kingdom were always going to be up against it as they traveled to Thurles.

Kerry were behind 3.10 to 0.5 points at the break and Tipp ran out 6.21 to 0.11 points winners.

Kerry will now face Cork next Saturday at 7pm in The Austin Stack Park.

Kerry will be without Andrew Keane and Gary O'Brien for their Christy Ring Cup opener at the weekend.

The Kingdom take on Wicklow at 2.30 on Saturday, with Keane ruled out because of a shoulder injury, and O'Brien due to a groin problem.

Kerry can call on 4 of the side which lost to Meath in the All-Ireland B Championship last year; Tom McElligott, Daniel Collins, Paul McGrath and Ricky Heffernan.

Pitch & Putt-Fleming Victorious

Home player Damien Fleming has reclaimed the Gerald Horgan Memorial Senior Scratch Cup at Deerpark.

It took 58 holes to defeat Ray Murphy from Cork after both finished on 11 under par after the regulation 3 rounds.

It's Fleming's fourth win in the competition in 5 years.

There was a Kerry victory in the opening Ryanair Novice Chase at Punchestown today.

Lucky William, trained by Tom Cooper and owned by the Garden Kingdom syndicate, was a 1 and a half length winner over Blackstairmountain

Kerry's Brian O'Sullivan will captain Munster against Leinster in tomorrow's Junior Interprovincial Championship opener.

The Tralee player is joined in the starting 15 by Ciaran O'Coilean of Corca Dhuibhne.

Kerry have qualified for the Munster Minor Football Semi Final.

The Kingdom saw off Limerick in Tralee last evening on the scorline 3.9 to 5 points.

Kerry lead 1.4 to 0.4 at the short whistle thanks to a Gerald O' Sullivan goal.

Second half goals from Eanna O' Conchuir and Gavin O' Shea saw Kerry through to a Semi Final meeting with Clare.

Kerry Minor win

The Kerry Minor Football team have qualifed for the next round of The Munster Championship.

The Kingdom came away from Dungarvan last evening with a 1.14 to 1.3 win over Waterford and will face Limerick next Tuesday night in the second round of the play offs in Tralee.

The Currow Midfielder is still suffering with an ankle injury and will be Kerry's only absentee as the sides meet again just a week after drawing 1.12 each in the Final round of the League last weekend in Tralee.

Munster givefirst Heineken Cup starts to hooker Mike Sherry and wing-forward Tommy O'Donnell for Sunday's 1/4 Final against Ulster.

The team shows seven changes from the Leinster loss last weekend, with Paul O'Connell, Donnacha Ryan and Conor Murray all included.

Denis Hurley joins Murray in the backs, with Johne Murphy and Tomas O’Leary dropped to the bench.

Up front, Ryan and O’Connell return from injury.

In the back row, Peter O’Mahony switches from seven to six and O’Donnell is preferred to David Wallace.

The Irish Girls Schools have beaten the FAI selection in the Bob Doherty International Cup.

Listowel Celtic player McCarthy's team won 4-2 on penalties after the match ended 1 all.

Gaelic games-The Boyles Are Back In Town

Liam, Mikey and Padraig Boyle will be back in training with the Kerry senior hurling panel this week.

The trio were released from the Kingdom set-up a fortnight ago.

Kerry hurling manager John Meyler last week stated that the door was not closed on any player being part of his panel, adding that he needed all the best players to be involved and that commitment was key.

The Boyles will make their comeback in a session on Wednesday evening.
