European election candidate calls for more electric vehicle public chargers

A European election candidate says Ireland needs to ramp up the installation of electric vehicle public chargers to honour its climate commitments.

Fine Gael candidate John Mullins is running for Ireland South, which includes Kerry, in the elections.

Mr Mullins believes there’s a pressing need for more public charge points, to serve those who don’t have access to a charger at home or in the workplace, and to facilitate longer journeys.
