There's not just one rural Ireland, but many rural Irelands and the reality is that outside of Dublin, the urban and rural in this country are more interchangeable than we like to admit. That's according to Gavin Daly who's a researcher at the University of Liverpool and works with the European Spatial Planning Observatory Network based in Luxembourg. His thought-provoking letter was published in The Irish Times this week.
