Improvement works on some streets and footpaths in Tralee town centre, are expected to be finished in time for the Rose of Tralee festival, it's been confirmed.
Since the start of the year, traffic coming from the western side of the town has been diverted away from the Island of Geese towards Matt Talbott road.
The area around the Island of Geese and parts of Rock Street have been closed to traffic, while new tarmac has been laid and new paving installed.
Businesses in these areas have had restricted access to their premises while the work is being carried out.
Mayor of Tralee Angie Baily says the town will look a lot more attractive just in time for Féile Trá Lí and the Rose festival, which kick off on August 14.
