Kerry Independent TD Danny Healy-Rae has questioned whether Covid-19 vaccines could be linked to increases in certain cancers among young people.
Deputy Healy-Rae presented no evidence to support his assertion and asked the Health Minister Jennifer Carroll MacNeill to launch a high level investigation on the unproven link between COVID-19 vaccines and cancer rates - which she has said she won't do.
The incident rate of certain cancers in under 50s, including colorectal and gastrointestinal cancers, have been on the rise in recent decades with no agreed scientific cause.
However, it's believed ultra processed foods, pollution rates and increasing population numbers may be responsible.
