The Tánaiste Simon Harris has paid tribute to former Fine Gael TD Gerard Lynch.
Mr Lynch passed away yesterday, December 20th, and was a Fine Gael TD for the Kerry North constituency from 1969 to 1977, and a Senator for the Agricultural Panel from 1977 to 1981.
He was also a councillor for the Listowel area on Kerry County Council and Listowel Urban District Council during various periods from 1967 to 1979.
Simon Harris praised the late TD as a man of tremendous integrity, and someone who possessed a genuine passion for politics and for working to improve the lives of his constituents of Kerry North.
Mr Lynch will repose at the Gleasure Funeral Home, Greenville, Listowel on Monday evening, with his Requiem Mass taking place on Thuesday morning at 11.30 at St Mary's Church Listowel.
