Tributes are coming in for the late Kerry TD, Senator, and Councillor Gerard Lynch, who passed away yesterday.
Mr Lynch was a Fine Gael TD for the Kerry North constituency from 1969 to 1977, and a Senator for the Agricultural Panel from 1977 to 1981.
He was also a councillor for the Listowel area on Kerry County Council and Listowel Urban District Council during various periods from 1967 to 1979.
Throughout his life, Gerard Lynch was also a farmer and baker by profession.
Cllr. Michael Foley, Cathaoirleach of Kerry County Council, paid tribute to Mr Lynch, saying that his connection to the land and his commitment to his community made him a well-known and respected figure throughout Kerry, and leaves behind a legacy of service, dedication, and leadership will be remembered by many.
