New art exhibition inspired by life on the Great Blasket opens in Tralee

A new art exhibition documenting life on the Blasket Islands opens in Tralee this evening.

‘On the Edge and In-Between’ is a new exhibition by artist James Hayes, which is inspired by the six months he spent living and working as a caretaker of the Great Blasket Island.

The exhibition presents a compelling body of artwork, with Hayes bringing a contemporary perspective to one of Ireland’s most iconic landscapes.

James Hayes is a visual artist from Kerry, primarily an oil-painter but is also an accomplished muralist, illustrator, and qualified architect.

The free art exhibition will be opened at 5:30 this evening at Siamsa Tíre in Tralee, running there until 1st August, before continuing at the Blasket Centre from 15th August to 20th September.
