Thousands of cyclists are making their way around the Ring of Kerry for the annual charity cycle.
Around 5,000 cyclists took off from the Mission Road in Killarney this morning, with some setting off before 5am, for the 44th edition of the Ring of Kerry Charity Cycle.
They’ll cycle the 170km route around the Ring of Kerry before finishing back in Killarney, with many aiming to be back before 3pm; there are rolling road closures along the route until 8pm.
The sun is out in Killarney, but cyclists are encountering a bit of mist around Coomakista.
There are no incidents reported so far on the route, with the first cyclists making it to the stop at Coláiste na Sceilge in Cahersiveen at around 9:30 this morning.
Athletes Sonya O’Sullivan, David Gillick, and former Taoiseach Enda Kenny are among the famous faces taking on the cycle today.
