A Kerry TD has called for a ban on pair trawling.
Fianna Fáils Michael Cahill raised the issue in his maiden speech in Dáil Eireann this week.
He is calling for a ban of the practice within a 6-mile radius as there has been a decline in marine life in Dingle and Kenmare Bays.

Mr Cahill also submitted a parliamentary question last month.
