Kerry County Council achieved a score of strong or excellent in 15 out of 19 of the National Enforcement Priorities (NEPs) last year.
The Environmental Protection Agency's Local Authority Performance Framework measures and reports on environmental compliance in water quality, air quality and waste management.
The results from the EPA Local Authority Performance Framework remains at the same level as the previous year, when Kerry County Council received a score of 16 out of a potential 20 strong or excellent NEPs.
The council was praised for its excellent performance for the disposal of ELVs and metals, as well as domestic waste water treatment, waste water discharge licencing and solid fuel.
The EPA says the council requires a greater focus on five areas where some moderate results were recorded.
The areas requiring focus were water for agricultural farmyards and farmlands, household and commercial waste, and environmental noise pollution.
This is the third year in a row that the council has been advised to improve on household and commercial waste and agricultural farmyards.
