Killarney Anseo bus to run for second year

The TFI Anseo bus pilot project in Killarney has been extended for a second year.

The service is managed by TFI Local Link Kerry and funded by the National Transport Authority (NTA) through the Government's Climate Action Fund.

The on-demand bus service was launched in Killarney on 11 August last year (2025).

Instead of following fixed routes and timetables, Anseo buses travel wherever passengers need to go within a designated zone; in Killarney, this is a 10.4 km radius.

The one year pilot project has now been extended for a second year.

Since its launch on 11 August 2025, the Killarney service has carried over 82,000 passenger journeys.

The announcement has been welcomed by Kerry TDs Minister Norma Foley and Deputies Michael and Danny Healy Rae.
