The IDA says site visits are only one measure of a company's interest in a particular location.

Last year, there were five visits to the county organised by the state body; Tralee and Killarney were the two locations in Kerry that the clients expressed an interested in further investigating.

Radio Kerry had sought details on the costs incurred during each visit, however, the IDA refused individual breakdowns, claiming its release could seriously impact the wider community.

Last year, the IDA says it spent over €7,500 on meals, refreshments, travel and accommodation on potential clients.

These costs would include those incurred on site visits to Kerry.
