Council says water quality at some beaches may be impacted by storm

Kerry County Council says water quality at some beaches may deteriorate due to Storm Francis. Adverse weather in recent weeks has led to bathing bans

Kerry County Council says water quality at some beaches may deteriorate due to Storm Francis.

Adverse weather in recent weeks has led to bathing bans in Fenit and Inny Beach, Waterville due to rainfall run-off into rivers and streams causing elevated bacteria levels at those locations.

There is a bathing advisory at White Strand, Ballybunnion North and South, Ballyheigue, Banna, Castlegregory, Maharabeg, Ventry, Kells and Cuas Crom due to the storm.
