Tributes are being paid to a man who died in Killarney over the weekend.

A Garda investigation into the incident is underway.

Gardaí say a criminal investigation is continuing into the unexplained death of a man on Saturday night outside the Gleneagle Hotel.

Darragh Sheehan from Doneraile in North Cork was found unconscious outside the venue on the Muckross Road at 11.40pm

The 26-year-old was pronounced dead a short time later.

A post mortem was carried out at University Hospital Kerry but Gardaí say they won’t be releasing the results due to operational reasons.

They are appealing for anyone with any information to come forward including road users with dash-cam footage.

Tributes have been paid to Darragh Sheehan including from Doneraile GAA Club, with whom he played at all levels.

On the club’s Facebook page, Darragh is described as a great team player who will be greatly missed.
