A woman is recovering this evening from a dramatic ordeal, in which she was rescued from the water after falling from a cliff in Ballybunion.
The alarm was raised around 10.20am this morning, when she was spotted falling from a cliff close to the 'Nine Daughters' Hole'.
Three kayakers who were in the vicinity went to her aid, and she was brought to the Ladies beach by the local sea rescue boat, where she received medical assistance.
Omar Fitzell from Ballybunion Sea and Cliff Rescue paid tribute to the kayakers for their swift actions and to sea rescue volunteers, who were able to launch the rescue boat within six minutes of the alarm being raised.
