A priest speaking at the funeral of Jamey Carney has asked the people of Killarney to continue supporting the murdered woman's family.
The 43-year-old American was found murdered in her home near Muckross Road in the town last week.
Ms Carney was the mother of a 13-year-old girl.
A sunflower, a cowboy hat, and a picture of her daughter - just some of the symbols of Jamey Carney's life, offered up as part of a requiem mass this afternoon at St Mary's Cathedral in Killarney.
In the words of the celebrant, Fr Kieran O'Brien, "We do not focus today on Jamey's death, but on her life".
"She was bright, cheerful, and full of life", described as "kind" and "selfless" - "joy radiated from her", and "it's appropriate that the sunflower was her favorite.
Members of her family, her mother Kathleen, sister Devon, and daughter Michaela, led the funeral procession through the streets of Killarney.
Guards of honor were provided by Dr Croke's U-14 girls' team and members of St Brendan's Rowing Club.
Jamey Carney's remains then left Killarney on the way to a private cremation.
In his closing remarks of his family, Father Kieran O'Brien asked the people of Killarney to continue to support Kathy, Devon, and Michaela.
