The motoring organisation The AA has named Fenit Ireland's best beach for 2026.
The study ranked 228 Blue Flag beaches across the UK and Ireland, assessing factors including water quality, sunshine hours, lifeguard provision, parking costs and visitor reviews.
Fenit beach placed eighth overall across the UK and Ireland, while Clogherhead Beach in Louth was the only other Irish beach to break into the top 20 (at 14th).

Fenit was praised for its calm waters, free parking, excellent water quality and nearby RNLI lifeboat station.
The AA says the findings are intended to help families plan safe and enjoyable seaside trips during the summer holidays.
