The 10th annual Valentia Lecture takes place today and tomorrow on Valentia Island.
The theme of this year’s Lecture at the historic Valentia cable station is “The Future of the Global Citizen in a Changing World”.
Key note speeches will be followed by panel discussions across the two days, with speakers including Tourism Ireland CEO Alice Mansergh, RTÉ political correspondent and Kerry man Micheál Lehane, former Supreme Court Judge Marie Baker, and Professor Aoife McLysaght, science advisor to the Irish government.
To mark the 10th anniversary of the Lecture, a delegation of MPs and Senators from the Canadian European parliamentary group will participate in the panel discussions.
The newly-established Valentia Global Impact Award will also be presented at a gala dinner tomorrow evening to recognise a person connected with Ireland who has had an impact globally.
