The Department of Transport is engaging with Irish Rail and Bus Éireann on additional services for the All-Ireland Final.
That’s according to Minister of State Jerry Buttimer who was responding to Kerry Fine Gael Senator Mike Kennelly.
Senator Kennelly called for rail services for Kerry supporters travelling to the All-Ireland Football Final, to be announced well in advance.
Speaking in Seanad Éireann he urged for there to be sufficient services, to alleviate concerns of all Kerry fans.
Senator Kennelly said it’s of particular concern for those travelling from areas of South and West Kerry who travel over an hour to get to train stations:
In response, the Junior Transport Minister advised the Department has spoken with transport providers regarding additional All-Ireland services.
Jerry Buttimer stated scheduling matters are for Irish Rail and Bus Éireann.
However, he gave this response to Senator Mike Kennelly when asked about additional train services.
