The technical examination taking place at a factory near Foynes has concluded.
Gardaí were alerted to the discovery of a suspect device at Aughinish Alumina at around 3.30 Friday afternoon.
A cordon was established around the area and the Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team attended the scene and examined the suspect device which was removed from the scene for further examination.

Aughinish Alumina has a workforce of around 500 people, and is one of the biggest employers in West Limerick and North Kerry.
Gardaí conducted a technical examination on the scene yesterday which has now been completed and have stated that inveestigations are ongoing.
