A sculpture honouring the contribution of Kerry women during the Irish revolutionary period is due to be unveiled soon.
The memorial was a result of a cross-party motion in 2023 from the then-five female county councillors; Deirdre Ferris, Maura Healy-Rae, Marie Moloney, Norma Moriarty and Aoife Thornton.
At the recent Tralee Municipal District meeting, Sinn Féin’s Paul Daly asked if a date had been set for the unveiling of the sculpture in Tralee Town Park.
Fellow Sinn Féin councillor Deirdre Ferris said she has been told it’s expected to be done before the end of July, and she’s excited for everyone to see this stunning monument.
Kerry County Council said the sculpture to commemorate the women of Kerry during the revolutionary period is at the final stages of development.
