A status yellow thunderstorm warning is currently in place for Kerry, as well as the rest of Munster, Leinster and counties Cavan, Donegal and Monaghan.
Met Eireann is warning of localised heavy showers with the risk of hail and spot flooding.
It says there is also a risk of treacherous road conditions.
