Kerry has a higher proportion of roads without defects compared to the national average.
That’s according to a state watchdog for local authorities.
The National Oversight and Audit Commission’s (NOAC) Kerry County Council Scrutiny Report states that over 36 per cent (36.3%) of Kerry’s local primary roads had no defects, compared to the national average of nearly 28 per cent (27.93%).
Almost 27 per cent (26.5%) of Kerry’s local secondary roads didn’t have any defects, compared to just over 23 per cent nationally (23.14%).
The proportion of Kerry’s tertiary roads with no defects was also better than the national average, at over 25 per cent (25.48%) in comparison to over 19 per cent (19.38%) nationally.
