Kerry Gardaí say several motorists will be prosecuted following the detection of illegal vehicle modifications.
Members of the Kerry Roads Policing Unit carried out checkpoints in Killarney at the weekend, targeting vehicles that were not modified within permitted regulations.
Offences detected included exhausts emitting more noise than permitted, and windows tinted below the legal specification.

Gardaí say new mobile equipment detects such offences on modified cars, and a number of motorists are facing prosecution.
