Recent cold snap sees rise in calls to Kerry animal charity

Kerry’s leading animal welfare charity experienced an increase in calls during the recent cold snap.

The Kerry SPCA says people were concerned about animals’ well-being in early and mid-December when temperatures reached sub-zero.

Harry McDaid says in the vast majority of cases, the animals were receiving appropriate food and shelter.

He says it’s a sign of how concerned people are in the county for animals.
