Proposal to give Castleisland ESB boxes a facelift

Local artists are to be contacted to decorate ESB boxes and similar structures in Castleisland.

Fine Gael Cllr Bobby O'Connell said the structures are unsightly monstrosities in the town and he praised projects around the country, which enhanced their appearance. He suggested that local schools could also be involved, in collaboration with the ESB.

Kerry County Council said the Castleisland Corca Dhuibhne Municipal District Office will consult the Arts Office to progress the worthwhile proposal.
