The first official count from the Kerry constituency presidential election vote has been confirmed.
Boxes were opened from 9 o'clock this morning at the Killarney Sports and Leisure Centre.
In total, 261 boxes were opened from across the constituency, with the count beginning around 12.30 this afternoon.
The results of the count are as follows:
- Independent Catherine Connolly, 62.98%, at 28,807
- Fine Gael's Heather Humphreys, 29.66%, at 13,568
- Withdrawn Fianna Fáil candidate Jim Gavin, 7.35% at 3,364
Voter turnout in Kerry has been confirmed at just under 45%, with 52,840 people casting their vote.
