Taoiseach Micheál Martin has unveiled new stamps for the 250th anniversary of the birth of Daniel O’Connell.
The new stamps were designed by Irish artist David Rooney.
A limited edition First Day Cover envelope featuring his statue in Ennis along with the stamps are available at selected post offices and on the An Post website from today.
The Taoiseach spoke at a symposium about the Kerry man in Trinity College Dublin this week.
Mr Martin said by every measure, The Liberator was the most internationally known and influential leader in our history.
