A large operation was conducted in South Kerry today as Gardaí work to trace the last known movements of Michael Gaine.
Checkpoints were set up in Kenmare and Gardaí spoke to motorists to gather more information for their investigation.
Michael Mike Gaine was last seen in Centra last Thursday morning; his family and Gardaí say they are extremely concerned for his well-being.
Extensive searches have been taking place, which have included slurry tanks on his farm in Carrig East emptied and an adandoned quarry being searched.
Superintendent David Callaghan from Tralee Garda Station is urging anyone with information to come forward.
