Kerry’s David Kenny shines in his very first Olympics

Kerry’s David Kenny has performed very well in his very first Olympics.

The Farranfore-Maine Valley athlete was in the 20km racewalk final earlier this morning. In his first Olympics, David finished 29th, in a time of 1:26.54, just under six minutes behind the race winner from Italy.

The Kerryman is coached by five-time Olympian racewalker Rob Heffernan.

Michael O’Connor from Farranfore-Maine Valley, who introduced David to racewalking, says the community is very proud of their Olympian.
