Kerry salon owner calls for financial aids for beauty sector

A Kerry salon owner is calling on the government to support the beauty industry as it prepares to reopen.

Taoiseach Micheál Martin has confirmed the return of hairdressers and beauticians from next month.

800 people in Kerry are employed in the hair and beauty industry.

The Hair and Beauty Industry Confederation has written to the Government highlighting the supports needed for the sector.

Mary O'Donoghue of the Sanctuary Spa in Tralee says salon owners have been accumulating debt and will need financial supports including the extension of the Temporary Wage Subsidy Scheme and a lower VAT rate:
