Kerry recorded its wettest May since 2018 last month.

That’s according to Met Éireann’s latest climate statement.

The report shows the rainfall recorded at Valentia Observatory was 39% above its long-term average.

It also recorded the highest mean monthly temperature in Ireland during May at 10.4 degrees - 0.9 degrees above its long-term average.

The South Kerry weather station registered the lowest monthly sunshine at 138,6 hours, or just over 4 hours a day (4.62).
