Kerry is now the most expensive place in Munster to buy a new-build home, except for Cork City.
That’s according to the latest Daft.ie property price report, published today.
It shows vast price increases across a range of house types, sold on Daft.ie in Kerry in the second quarter of the year.
The report also says house prices in Munster are now 71% above pre-covid levels, and are 119% higher than a decade ago.
According to the report, the most common asking price for a new-build home in Kerry in the year to March was €430,000.
The only place in Munster with a more expensive median price for new-build homes in that time was Cork City, at €500,000.
New-builds in Kerry were more expensive than the counties of Cork, Tipperary, Waterford, Clare and Limerick, the cities of Limerick and Waterford.
There are also significant price increases within the different property types sold in Kerry on Daft.ie in the second quarter.
The average asking prices for semi-detached four-beds in Kerry went up by over 22% in the space of 12 months, to €385,000.
A three-bed, semi-detached in Kerry now has an average asking price of €315,000, up almost 8% in a year.
Detached, two-bed houses in Kerry were being listed for an average of a quarter of a million euro, an increase of almost 15% in a year.
Detached three-bed houses in Kerry were listed for an average of €354,000 in the second quarter of the year, which is up almost 11% in 12 months.
The average asking price for detached five-beds in Kerry are up almost 12% in the last year to €554,000.
Terraced, three-bed houses in the county were being listed for an average of €272,000 in the second quarter, which is up 2% in a year.
The only house type in Kerry which showed a decrease in asking price were detached four-beds, which went down by almost 3%, now standing at an average of €417,000.
