Kerry Councillors will contact Transport Infrastructure Ireland to air concerns over what's been described as the most significant blackspot in the county.
It follows a motion at the recent full meeting of Kerry County Council from independent councillor Martin Grady.
He highlighted recent figures from the Road Safety Authority which showed 61 fatalities from collisions in Kerry between 2016 and 2024.
Cllr Grady stated there's a disproportionate number of collisions along the N22 and said the proposed Farranfore-Killarney bypass must remain a priority.
The motion was seconded by Cllr Maura Healy-Rae who noted that traffic has increased greatly on the N22 since the Macroom bypass opened.
She said various junctions along the route are experiencing constant near misses, adding public safety and accident reduction are needed.
