A Kerry Fianna Fáil councillor is calling on the Government to stand with the fishing industry.
This comes after an EU deal which has resulted in a reduced fishing quota for Ireland.
Seafood Ireland Alliance, a fishing industry coalition, says the quota will decrease by approximately 57 thousand tonnes.
The alliance claims it's facing a quota reduction of nearly €100 million and that more than 2,000 jobs are at risk.
