Almost €47,000 in funding has been announced to support 12 Kerry festivals and summer schools.
It’s part of over €370,000 in supports announced under the Small-Scale Local Festivals and Summer Schools Scheme by Culture Minister Patrick O’Donovan.
The maximum grant of €5,000 has been awarded to five groups in the county – Féilte na Snadhma; Glenbeigh Summer Festival; Kerry Culture and Literary Centre; Caherdaniel Festival Group; and Teach Siamsa Finuge.
Ballybunion Community Centre; Cromane Seafest; Irish Pipe Band Association; and Dingle New Choir & Orchestra will each receive over €3,000.
NEWKD; Kenmare Family Resource Centre; and CCÉ Lixnaw are also set to benefit from funding.
Meanwhile, Mountcollins Development Association in West Limerick will receive €3,900 in supports.
The funding has been welcomed by Fine Gael Senator Mike Kennelly, and Fianna Fáil TD Michael Cahill.
