A Fine Gael Kerry county councillor wants Sean Kelly to be the party's candidate in the upcoming presidential election.

Councillor Bobby O'Connell says Sean Kelly has a proven track record at home and abroad.

The next presidential election must take place in the 60 days before President Michael D. Higgin's term ends on 11 November.
