A Humanity Ball, to be held in Tralee on New Years Eve, aims to raise in excess of €150,000 for the Kerry Hospice Foundation, the Tír na n-Og Childrens Foundation, and the One for Humanity charity.
The black tie event , which will be held in Ballygarry Estate Hotel, is being spearheaded by Stephen Stack, Sean Ryan, Ogie Moran and Dick Spring amongst others.
Launching the event Minister Norma Foley said that there is still heart and spirit in Irish people to do the right thing.
She said that the event speaks of connection, and that in a world that has become topsy turvy we have obligations on an international stage too.
The beneficiaries from the fundraising event will include the Kerry Hospice Foundation, the Tír na n Og Childrens Foundation established by Louise Quill which aims to transform children's lives in Tanzania, and the One for Humanity charity founded by Shane Leahy which provides medical supplies in crisis zones like Ukraine and Gaza.
Ambassador for the Humanity Ball, Kerry Footballer Joe O Connor said that the charities that will benefit represent the county in the work they do - giving back to people most in need.
Stephen Stack encouraged businesses and individuals to support the project with more details of tickets and sponsorship packages available on www.humanityball.ie.
