Health watchdog gives mainly positive report card to residential centre in East Kerry

The health watchdog has given a mainly positive report card to a residential centre in East Kerry.

HIQA conducted a short notice announced inspection of Rathmore Residential Services in February (12 February).

Kerry Parents and Friends Association runs the facility for adults with a range of needs and abilities.

The Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA) deemed the centre compliant with eleven standards and substantially compliant with two more.

Overall, the inspector found that residents receive good care and support, and appeared happy and content.

A schedule of works is in place to address concerns about fire doors and a leak and moss in the ceiling of an unused area.
