A Killarney man who has been recognised for his work at the Grammys says playing trad music in his hometown paved the way for his success.

Ruairí O'Flaherty from Killarney is a senior master engineer.

He was part of the team which won for their work on Record of the Year, Luther, by Kendrick Lamar and SZA; this is one of the most prestigious awards at the Grammys.

Ruairí is paying tribute to all those who gave him his start in music in Killarney, including brother Tony.

He says his past-experience of playing music and working in the industry in Killarney all helped in the culmination of an award-winning Grammy record:
