Gardaí investigating the death of Jamey Carney in Killarney say they are satisfied that a person of interest in the case has left Ireland.
43-year-old Ms Carney was found dead at her home on Muckross Road on Tuesday.
The body of mother-of-one Jamey Carney was found at her home on the Muckross Road on Tuesday afternoon; she was pronounced dead at the scene.
A post-mortem was carried out on the US citizen's remains yesterday, the results of which are not being released by gardaí for operational reasons.
Following the completion of the post-mortem, gardaí upgraded their investigation into her death to that of murder.
Gardaí are now satisfied that a person of interest in this investigation left the jurisdiction in the early hours of Tuesday 7th July, prior to Ms Carney's body being discovered and reported to An Garda Síochána.
Gardaí also say they're engaging with international law enforcement partners.
This murder investigation is being carried out by the Serious Crime Unit, Kerry Division led by a senior investigating officer based at an incident room at Killarney Garda station.
Gardaí say the investigation team is being assisted by national units, including the Garda National Bureau of Criminal Investigation, and the Garda National Immigration Bureau.
They're continuing to appeal for any person with any information to come forward and speak to the investigation team.
Anyone who was in the Muckross Road area of Killarney between 11pm on Monday, 6th of July and 5am on Tuesday the 7th and who may have camera footage, including CCTV or dashcam, is asked to give gardaí these recordings.
