Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a woman was falsely imprisoned in a vehicle in Listowel in the early hours of this morning.
The incident occurred on the Clieveragh Road outside the town centre at approximately 3:20am.
A man, in his 20s, was arrested in connection with this investigation and has been detained at a Garda Station in the Southern Region under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
Gardaí are appealing for any road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam footage, and who were in the area between Listowel town centre and the R552 Clieveragh Road between 2 and 4am to come forward.
Gardaí are particularly interested in the movements of a white Audi A4 saloon during this time.
