Today’s Ring of Kerry Charity Cycle has been hailed as an enormous success and an amazing day.
Many of the 5,000 cyclists who took off from Mission Road in Killarney have made their way around the 170km Ring of Kerry route, past the finish line on Beech Road, with some beginning the cycle before 5am.

No incidents were reported along the route today, while the weather held out in the main for the cyclists, bar some mist towards South Kerry.
The Ring of Kerry Charity Cycle, now in its 44th year, has raised almost €22 million for charities and community organisations over the years.
PRO of the Ring of Kerry Charity Cycle, Cathal Walshe, is at the finish line on Beech Road, where there is live music, entertainment, and refreshments.
Cathaoirleach of the Killarney Municipal District, Cllr John O’Donoghue, says it’s been a huge success.
