A bridge in North Kerry that had been closed to traffic has reopened.
The council has closed the Duagh to Kilmorna road between Foildarrig junction and Kilmorna junction to allow for monitoring of the structure of Foildarrig Bridge.
It had been due to remain closed until December 11th; however, Kerry County Council says its engineering consultants say the bridge can reopen to traffic immediately.
This comes after structural surveys were carried out at the site on Friday.
Minister of State at the Office of the Public Works Kevin Boxer Moran visited the site on Friday.
There had been questions raised locally around whether the council or OPW should be carrying out any necessary works.
Junior Minister Moran wants to arrange a meeting between the OPW, Kerry County Council and Minister of State Michael Healy-Rae’s department to find a solution:
