Fine Gael’s Michael Foley of Listowel Municipal District has been elected as the cathaoirleach of Kerry County Council for the next 12 months.
He was elected unopposed having been proposed by Cllr Bobby O’Connell and seconded by Cllr Tommy Griffin.
Earlier, the county’s five municipal districts held their AGMs.
The Labour Party’s Terry O’Brien has been elected Mayor Tralee while Angie Baily of Fine Gael is the MD’s newest leas-chathaoirleach.

In Killarney MD, independent councillor Martin Grady was elected the cathaoirleach, the fourth member of his familt to hold the position.
The new leas-chathaoirleach of Killarney is John O’Donoghue of the Kerry Independent Alliance.

The Listowel MD councillors elected Fianna Fáil’s Michael Leane as the newest cathaoirleach of Listowel.
Fine Gael’s Aoife Kennelly was chosen as the newest leas-chathaoirleach.

Fine Gael councillor, and the longest serving county councillor, Bobby O’Connell is Castleisland-Corca Dhuibhne’s newest cathaoirleach.
The MD’s leas-chathaoirleach will be Fine Gael’s Tommy Griffin.

Fianna Fáil’s Norma Moriarty has been elected the Cathaoirleach of the Kenmare MD for the third time.
She will be supported by independent councillor Dan McCarthy as leas-chathaoirleach.
