Family of Michael Gaine express gratitude to all who assisted in search

The family of Michael Gaine have expressed their gratitude to everyone who assisted in the search for the Kenmare man.

Michael Gaine was reported missing on March 21st, and the search was upgraded to a homicide investigation in April.

The funeral mass for the 56-year-old took place today at Holy Cross Church in Kenmare, where tributes were paid to the farmer and rally car enthusiast.

He also paid tribute to Michael's friends and neighbours who offered up their time to bring Michael home:

Members of Killarney and District Motor Club formed a guard of honour outside the church to pay tribute to their friend, and Mo Ghile Mear was sung during the procession out of the church.

A group of Michael's friends had restored his former rally car to lead Mike's funeral procession and final journey, and took his ashes on one last lap of Kenmare to his home.
