The new CEO of Kerry County Council says there are clear targets in place to address the turnaround time on vacant housing.
Fearghal Reidy was responding to recent data, which showed local authority homes in Kerry are left vacant longer than in any other county.
2.9% of the overall housing stock in the county is vacant, which he states is below the national average.
Mr Reidy says housing is the council’s number one priority , and he is confident the issue will be addressed within the next year:
Meanwhile, Fearghal Reidy says the local authority has been very active to ensure land is available to meet house building targets.
The CEO of Kerry County Council met with Minister for Housing James Browne recently and discussed housing targets.
Mr Reidy believes Kerry is ahead of the curve nationally for rezoning and servicing land.
