Kerry County Council must expand the Age Friendly Parking initiative to all towns and larger villages across the county.
That's according to Fianna Fáil Councillor Tommy Cahill, who stated that older people are “a vital part of our towns, villages, and parishes".
He feels that older people in our community have made and continue to make significant contributions to our communities, and it is the council's duty to ensure that infrastructure reflects inclusivity.
At present there are 14 Age Friendly Parking spaces in Kerry - 5 in Killarney, 5 in Tralee, and 5 in Listowel, according to figures provided by Kerry County Council.
Cllr. Cahill says that the expansion of the Age Friendly Parking initiative is vital in ensuring that Kerry continues to lead as an age-friendly county.
